rifle Hunting with Louwlardus
When to hunt and what to bring
Earlier in the season (April thru July when there are more leaves on the cover is better suited for those who prefer a stalking bow hunt. The denser foliage makes it a little easier to conceal yourself and there are fewer dry leaves on the ground. Bring a pair of soft-soled hunting boots with that you can walk quietly in and camouflage clothing that blends in with the bush around you.
Later in the year (August thru October has advantages when bow hunting from hides as animals tend to visit waterholes more regularly. Bring dark-colored, quiet clothing and even a face mask with you if you plan on hunting from hides.
Rifle hunting
Although we primarily focus on bow hunting we have been requested by several guests to also accommodate rifle hunting and we adhered following strict rules to still hunt with conservation and game management as main focus.
The Limpopo Province of South Africa is considered by many to be one of the greatest hunting grounds in the world, and one of the best destinations for rifle hunting in South Africa. Rifle hunters will be treated to plenty of sightings of game animals while they search for that special trophy. Shot distances range from between 50 yards and up and shots are typically taken off of tri-pod shooting sticks during walk and stalk.
